Potsdam, 14 October 2026. Placed Technologie GmbH announces its first institutional funding round. PLACED is a vertical AI platform that enables recruiters to automate their sales efforts and place candidates in jobs more quickly. Recruiters can identify suitable employers earlier and target them specifically.
The group of investors includes Brandenburg Kapital, the venture capital arm of the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB), Ventic Ventures, Angel Invest, True Growth, Superangels, WorkTech Angels, and the Business Angel Club by Board Academy. Other prominent business angels from the AI and staffing sectors have also invested. PLACED will use the capital to expand its platform, strengthen its sales efforts, and enhance its data technology.
Understanding Companies' Talent Needs
There are more than 30,000 recruitment and staffing agencies in Europe. They must match qualified candidates with suitable employers within a tight timeframe.
This market is not yet sufficiently efficient: Despite candidates willing to change jobs, dedicated recruiters, and high demand from employers, positions remain unfilled. At the same time, the requirements, qualifications, and demands of employers and candidates are changing rapidly. Comprehensive consulting services for candidates and companies provided by recruiters who can respond in real time to changing market conditions and demand are therefore becoming increasingly important.
To do this, recruiters need an accurate picture of the candidates and companies' talent needs. Individual job postings only partially reflect these needs. Only by analyzing a wide range of market signals can suitable employers be identified for complex candidate profiles, and can employer demand be understood in order to proactively reach out to them.
PLACED develops technology to monitor the job market, collecting billions of data points on job profiles, requirements, salaries, and benefits. Human and AI-powered recruiters use this data to find suitable companies for their candidates and reach out to them in a targeted manner.
Based on this database, PLACED will develop predictive capabilities in the future. This "Prediction Layer" is designed to forecast employers' staffing needs and the qualifications they are seeking. Recruiters will then be able to offer talent before a suitable position is posted.
Finding the Right Offers Faster
In addition to its data foundation, PLACED offers software that makes this market information usable for recruiters' day-to-day sales work and supports recruiters with specialized AI agents to largely automate their sales processes. AI agents handle the search for suitable companies and automate parts of the recruiter's role within the application process. Recruiters gain time to refine applications, provide personalized advice and preparation to candidates, and effectively showcase their motivation and strengths to suitable employers.
"AI makes job hunting easier, but it doesn't automatically make successful placement any easier. The key is for talent and companies to connect at the right time. When AI automates the search and placement process, it creates more placement opportunities and makes the job market more efficient. Personalized consulting is becoming increasingly important as a result, because recruiters can focus more on it. With PLACED, we're even taking it a step further: We want to identify employer demand before a position is even posted," says Kai Künne, Co-Founder and CEO of PLACED.
The technology also supports other customer groups, including virtual AI staffing providers, job boards, HR tech providers, and media companies. They can use the data product to match talent and employers more effectively.
PLACED is growing rapidly and has already attracted numerous well-known clients in the German recruitment industry.
"Together with the PLACED team, we are developing a new standard in sales. With PLACED, we are bringing together market signals, complex candidate profiles, company contacts, and AI agents in a single system," says Lars Poslednik, Managing Director of Franke + Pahl Fachkräfte GmbH.
"With PLACED, we are investing in a vertical AI startup that fully automates candidate outreach-a core business process in recruitment-from start to finish. This investment also underscores the growing importance of Brandenburg's startup hubs for innovative and scalable business models," says Markus Barnickel, Investment Manager at Brandenburg Kapital.
"We were very happy to invest in PLACED together with the Business Angel Club by Board Academy. From my many years of experience in HR consulting, including as CEO of Board Academy and a long-time (soft equity) partner at Kienbaum, I know just how much potential lies in better market data and automated processes. PLACED combines both in a technology that can fundamentally change recruitment. I look forward to supporting the team as an advisory board member and to advancing this technology beyond the staffing market as well," says Guido Happe, CEO of Board Academy.
